Threshold Study I
90 x 120 cm
A quiet passage between shelter and exposure, built from light that feels remembered rather than recorded.
Carla April’s practice moves softly between still image, atmosphere, and the human need to make meaning from what resists naming.
Selected works
90 x 120 cm
A quiet passage between shelter and exposure, built from light that feels remembered rather than recorded.
100 x 140 cm
Layered surfaces, almost ceremonial, where the image settles into something like weather.
Variable
A restrained study in rhythm and recurrence, as if the frame were remembering its own pulse.
About
Carla April works with images as if they were thresholds: spaces where memory, attention, and tenderness can meet without forcing resolution. The work is intentionally restrained, but never detached.
Across still image, sequence, and installation, the practice holds a quiet interest in what remains after the first impression passes. It is a body of work shaped by proximity, weather, and the subtle instability of looking.
